Summer Concert @Padworth

A Summer Concert being held indoors

On 20 June 2018 our annual summer concert took place for the third time since its creation. The concert is organised every year by the acclaimed concert pianist Ikuko Inoguchi who is not only our music teacher but the key person who launched our Padworth music programme three years ago. We enjoyed fantastic music performances from our experienced and especially also our less experienced students who accepted the challenge to go on stage for the first time: piano (Jessica Crabbe, Matthew Kuo, Matthew Golsworthy), voice (Sam Morton, Shylet Sayi), voice duet (Nathanael Coker & Sam Morton) and our very ‘funky’ mobile phone ensemble (Year 9 students). But that was not yet all. As a reflection of our ethos not only our students performed – we witnessed performances by our Chairman of the Trustees (Jonathan Rawes) on the piano, our Deputy (Chris Randell) on the trombone, our voice teacher (Sarah Hobbs) and of course our Ikuko Inoguchi on the piano. The concert’s theme recalled the anniversary of the death of Achille-Claude Debussy who was a French composer and the first Impressionist composer. It was a lovely concert and we are very proud of our students’ performances.
