Alumnus Profile: Precious Castillo

After completing her A Levels at Padworth College in 2019, Precious moved to the US to pursue a science degree.  She is currently studying a degree in Biochemistry at Texas Christian University, a private research university.

What are you doing now?

After graduating from Padworth College in 2019, I attended a Community College in the US and graduated with an Associate in Science degree in 2021.  I then transferred to Texas Christian University, a private research university, to complete my bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry.

What are your plans for the future?

I plan to pursue a PhD in Biomedical Science and become a biomedical research scientist.

How did your time at Padworth College help you?

Padworth had smaller class sizes, which I enjoyed very much.  For the first time in my life, I was able to perform lab experiments independently.  The experiential hands-on learning that Padworth provided played an enormous role in the development of my passion and love for the sciences.

Was there any particular aspect of your experience at Padworth College that you found to be most interesting or useful?

I found the smaller class sizes at Padworth to be really helpful.  I was able to develop closer relationships with teachers and it was easier to ask questions and clarify doubts.

What advice would you give to Padworth College students interested in following in your footsteps?

If you are the type of person who loves meeting people from different parts of the world and who loves the idea of studying in a very peaceful but engaging environment, then Padworth is for you.  At Padworth, you will not only learn to be independent, but will also gain friendships that will last a lifetime.
