Meet the ISC Staff and Students
The ISC teaching staff deliver a range of programmes to enable students to develop their English Language skills using a variety of teaching techniques to develop confidence in their use of the language, both written and oral. The teachers are all qualified and have substantial experience in teaching English to children and teenagers.
The ISC students were keen to be involved in designing and writing this webpage and so we are pleased to present a profile written by our students to introduce the staff and to give you an insight into what life as an ISC student at Padworth is really like!
Introducing the students from the International Study Centre.
Hello, we are the ISC students at Padworth College and we want to tell you about our courses here, our lessons and our teachers.
When we arrived, most of us were worried because our English wasn't very good. We all want to study GCSE and A Level subjects and then go to University, probably in the UK, so we need good English. At the moment, we are enjoying learning how to speak to and understand all over the world and it's interesting to meet people from different cultures and religions and learn about them. And we also learn a lot in our English lessons.
"I'm an A Level and ISC student so I normally have A Level subjects," says Lan from Japan, "but when I come to ISC lessons, they make me feel happy and interested because sometimes we play games in class and also we study grammar, listening, reading, etc. So if you come to the ISC at Padworth, I think your English will improve like mine has"
Hind from Saudi Arabia says, "I am studying English. I find the classes are fun. Some of the classes are difficult for me but the teacher makes it easier."
These are our teachers...
Belinda (middle) is the boss of the ISC. She organises our courses, our timetables and our exams. If we have any problems, we go to see her and she helps us. She teaches lots of EAP and helps students with their IELTS exams for University.
Heather (second from right) helps us with speaking and writing. She also teaches British culture where we learn about places, people and how to live in Britain. We do projects to display on the classroom walls.
Bel (second from left), Jon (far left) and Sally (far right) teach our coursebook and lots of grammar and vocabulary. They prepare us for the Cambridge KET, PET, FCE and IGCSE exams and take us on excursions for our project work.
