Careers & Higher Education

College Students

The College provides careers and higher education guidance to all students on an individual basis from when they arrive at the College at the point where they make their course choices in order to ensure that they have the best chance of being accepted on the programme that they wish to follow.

Students have access to a full range of higher education and careers literature, to the internet and to computer programmes including ECCTIS which matches a student’s interests and aptitudes to relevant degree options.

At every stage of his or her application, students are given practical help in filling in forms correctly, preparing for interviews and considering university offers.  Representatives of a number of Universities visit the College to give students the opportunity to find out more about individual courses and frequent visits are organised to attend University Open Days.  Particular care is taken in the case of students applying to Cambridge and Oxford.

After the results are published in August, Padworth offers a placement service for any student who has not yet found the right course.
