Our Trustees

John Crawshaw BA, MA, MBA (Chair)
After reading Classics at Oxford University, John went on to build a successful career in marketing and general management in the US and international markets.  Now retired, he held executive positions in the US, Canada, the Pacific Rim, the Far East and Europe for a major multinational food company.  John is also a Trustee of the STARS Foundation which improves the lives of disadvantaged children around the world by supporting organisations which meet their health, education and protection needs.

Deidre Dyson
Deidre is a graduate of Reading University (1st class Honours in French), the Sorbonne and is currently working part-time as an EFL teacher at Leighton Park School.  Deidre also has  a wealth of international experience – in Tonga, South Africa, Trinidad , Switzerland, Cameroun –  teaching EFL  and also working  for organisations such as the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, the British Diplomatic Service and has also spent time working at 10 Downing Street.

John Miller (Co-Deputy Chair)  
Former High Sheriff of Berkshire and local land owner, John lives next door to the College and farms the land surrounding the College.  John is actively involved in the local community and is currently President of Reading Cricket and Hockey Club, John is also a member of the Building development committee.

John West (Co-Deputy Chair) 
Educated at Malvern College, John is the owner of  Westbuild Homes, an established family specialist house building company who have been constructing residential properties in Berkshire and the surrounding counties for over 50 years. John also chairs the Building development committee.

Mike Hames  M.A., Adv. Dip.Ed.
Mike is an English graduate and a retired Senior Teacher, with a wealth of academic and pastoral management experience in independent schools.  Currently, he is an Independent Panel Member with a Foster Care Agency.  Mike is the Trustee with responsibility for Child Protection.

Jonathan Rawes M.A. (Chair of Fundraising Committee)
Jonathan had a career as an in-house commercial lawyer, principally with Reuters, for whom he spent three years as General Counsel Asia based in Hong Kong. He is also a Trustee of Magic Bus, a development charity helping slum children in India, and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Charity Management.” Jonathan is also a member of the Finance Committee.

Jeremy Robertson, B.Ed,. Adv Dip Ed.
Jeremy was the Headmaster of a charity-based independent residential school until he retired in 2007. He taught for 36 years in both the state and independent sectors. In recent years he has worked as an educational consultant to independent schools and is also  trained in Safer Recruitment in Schools.

Geoff Ash CIPFA
Geoff is a professional accountant and is now retired after a long career with Thames Water.  He was heavily involved in the privatisation of the business and subsequently held senior finance positions in the parent company servicing the Plc Board.  Geoff is a member of the Finance and Marketing Sub- Committee.

Paul Tabberner BEng, BSc (Hons)
Paul graduated from Sheffield University in 1995 after reading Mechanical Engineering and spent 5 years working as a Mechanical Design Engineer before moving into the world of finance with National Australia Bank and then Lloyds TSB where he remains to this day.  He completed a Masters in Finance at London Business School in 2008 and is currently Managing Director within the Wholesale Banking and Markets Division at Lloyds where he manages teams who work with UK based corporate clients.
