The PSHE programme at Padworth College is designed to empower our students to lead confident, healthy and responsible lives as individuals and as members of a global society. PSHE is taught during tutorial times but aspects of the subject are provided across the curriculum. The subject is taught in line with the Government’s Every Child Matters framework and is designed to provoke thought, debate and consideration.
Staff with particular expertise are encouraged to support the tutors by volunteering to teach one of the constituent parts of the programme.
PSHE at Padworth takes into account the College’s status as an independent boarding school and also the particular needs of its UK based day/ boarding students and international boarding students. The curriculum is focussed upon life skills, community experience and the world of work within the five broad areas of PSHE.
The PSHE curriculum was developed after an audit of the College’s materials and consultation with staff and students through a survey.
